Casual Catering Assistants - Job Description
Pavilion Gardens is an events and hospitality venue set in 23 acres of gardens with historical buildings. We host over 100 events each year which range from markets, fairs, weddings, dinners, auctions, party nights and stage shows. With more than six different outlets providing food and beverage service.
No one day is ever the same and we are now looking for team members to join us, our aim is to help our customers create special memories when visiting Pavilion Gardens. Our team is hard working, fun and focused, which creates a great team spirit to be a part of.

Organisational Structure
The post holder will report directly to the Duty Manager. Catering Supervisors and the Food & Beverage Manager will provide further support.
Job Description
Primary Objectives for the Casual Catering Assistant Position will be: -
▪ To assist the Duty/Line Manager to develop an exciting, innovative, quality catering operation in order to increase the usage and profitability within Pavilion Gardens.
▪ To assist the Duty/ Line Manager to ensure the highest possible standards of Health & Safety and Customer Care.
The Casual Catering Assistant will focus day to day on the following tasks:
▪ To work on a shift rota system in order to carry out daily catering operations.
▪ To be aware of all Health & Safety issues within Pavilion Gardens, to constantly implement and assess procedures, drawing attention to any useful practices.
▪ To maintain the highest standards of food hygiene and cleanliness at all times.
▪ To guide, care for and assist customers in their choice and use of the catering facilities.
▪ To work as part of a team to achieve the income and usage targets of the catering facilities.
▪ To innovate ideas and initiate action to increase the usage of the catering facilities.
▪ To ensure excellent presentation of food and beverages to the customer at all times.
▪ To ensure all stock management systems are followed at all times.
▪ To attend appropriate training and development as required.
▪ To undertake any other duties as may be required to assist in the running of Pavilion Gardens.
Candidate skills and specifications
Qualifications
● GCSE qualifications or equivalent
● Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
Personal
Among the personal characteristics sought the applicant:
● Experience of working in a retail/cafe/restaurant customer service environment.
● Knowledge of basic health and safety and hygiene practices.
● Excellent customer service skills
● Ability to deal with customer complaints effectively
● Ability to handle a pressurised and busy work environment
● Presentable and personable
● Good timekeeping
● Calm and efficient under pressure
The conditions
Title - Casual Catering Assistant
Reporting to - Duty/Line Manager
Grade - Food and Beverage Grade
Salary - Age related national minimum wage
Pension - The Company provides the National Employment Savings Trust (NEST) pension scheme. Eligible employees will be automatically enrolled into NEST 3 months after joining the Company. For further information please contact the HR department.
Holidays - 20 days plus Statutory Holidays pro rata
