This is a three-day course unlike most providers we have added an extra day to enable us to provide focus on personal performance. We will provide assessment for the Personal performance awards to the candidate’s standard.
A full day will be spent on river leadership skills and a day on open water journey skills.

A full day will be spent on river leadership skills and a day on open water journey skills.
To be able to get the most out of the training candidates should be able to paddle to the standard of the British Canoeing Progressive Canoe Award or 3 Star Open Canoe.
Meeting at Parkwood Centre 09.00 each day the paddling day will finish around 16.00 each day and we will cover technical areas of trip planning between 18.00 and 21.00 on the first and second days.
Candidates are expected to provide their own Boats and paddling equipment. Boats can be hired with prior arrangement.
You will require a pack lunch for each day and a hot drink as we will be away from the centre all day each day.
Once training has been completed candidates have up to three years to complete the assessment prerequisites and progress to assessment. If more time is required extension requests will be considered on a case by case basis.
