There is plenty to see and do in the local area if you feel like a day of doing something different as well as a few local village pubs serving good food.
The Brecon Beacons is a beautiful area of Wales and a day of exploring would certainly not be wasted! Covering a vast area, there are plenty of hidden gems including incredible views, walks and cycle paths to enjoy. The Taf Fechan Forest in particular is an endearing forest with plenty of scenic walks on a nice sunny afternoon.
If you feel like adding some history and education to your trip, The Morlais Castle is a short 10 minute drive away. This 13th century castle is a great feature of the area and gives you the opportunity explore some of the local history. For train enthusiasts, the Brecon Mountain Railway runs right past our doorstep and is certainly worth a visit.
Merthyr Tydfil is the closest town and is home to a range of shops, restaurants, bars and local attractions such as museums if you would like to explore a little further afield.
Cardiff International Pool is a 45 minute drive away in the heart of Cardiff Bay. The pool is home to some of the most exciting slides and water rides around!
